This is an excellent instrument which has great clarity and warmth of tone. It is very balanced and powerful. 1999 Kevin Aram (large body size): cedar top, Brazilian rosewood sides and back, Rodgers machines. This is the only cedar top Aram I have seen and I have to say I am very impressed. It has excellent volume and a nice singing quality throughout the registers. There is no muddiness which is sometimes the case with cedar guitars. 1986 Thomas Humphrey (pre millenium): cedar top, Brazilian rosewood sides and back. This is a terrific guitar by one of Americas most renowned luthiers. These have been played by a number of today's outstanding artists. This guitar is well balanced and has plenty of volume. I find it easy to play and very resonant which I attribute to the cedar top. 1999 Hermann Hauser III: spruce top, flame maple sides and back. This guitar has a wonderful sweet, focused tone. The balance is perfect and the guitar has excellent projection. 1993 Gioachino Giussani: spruce top, Brazilian rosewood sides and back. Powerful yet refined. This is a very nice guitar from one of Italy's leading young luthiers. The basses have deep presence and the trebles are clear and sweet. The condition is excellent but, there is one short hairline crack on the back. The French polish is original. Price: $4500 Photos
1990 Masaru Kohno "Professional": spruce top, Brazilian sides and back. This is a lovely instrument with excellent volume, sustain and playbility. I think Kohno is an under appreciated maker.
